Hola! I’m Beatriz

Spanish-Born

Venezuelan-Made

London-Based

I’m a cultural chameleon with a strong commercial and business background that turned my passion for Photography into a career with a dual focus on Fine Art and Creative Documentary Photography.

Cultural Chameleon

I was born in Spain, grew-up in Venezuela, re-trained as a photographer in Europe, and currently live in London. I see myself as a daring cultural chameleon whose numerous cross-cultural experiences have expanded my worldview, help me developed cultural intelligence and adaptability, heighten my interpersonal sensitivity and exposure to languages. These life experiences are imprinted in my photographic work and in the way I empathise with the people and places I photograph.

Passion into Career

Due to family and personal circumstances, I have migrated and travelled extensively in Latin America, Europe, and the Middle East. My travel experiences were a catalyst for turning my passion for photography into a career. I learned the language of photography by completing a BTEC Diploma in Art and Design (WAES) followed by an MA in Photographic Studies at Westminster University (UoW). Additionally, I gained practical experience interning at LA Noble Gallery (LANG), volunteering at Camden Arts Centre and assisting Magnum Photographer Chris Steele-Perkins.

Photography Practice

Photography gives me a voice, to express ideas, raise eyebrows, bring awareness, document, and awaken raw emotions. My practice is fluid, blending Fine Art and Creative Documentary photography, and stems from an in-depth research-based approach. People, especially women, the places they inhabit, their belongings, their journeys, their cultures, and their intrinsic humanity are the main inspirations for my work.

ART from Heart

My photography practice along with my experience in gallery management, is complemented by a strong business background developed throughout my early career as a business Consultant. The merger of these two areas, creative and commercial, led me to Co-Found and Direct ART from HEART (August 2019), an award-winner CIC London-based Organisation that curates, organises and manages multidisciplinary group Art Exhibitions and Events focusing on contemporary issues, advocating for socio-cultural causes, and engaging audiences through “Artivism”.

Behind the Scenes

Beyond photography, I am a writer with an eye for design, a creative and commercial mindset, and a strong sense of humour. At last, “A writer is simply a photographer of thoughts." -Writer Brandon A. Trean.

I am now excited to offer Copywriting and Events Management Services for creatives to benefit from my combined experiences. Interested? Learn more here

When I am not shooting, managing a big event, or networking, you can find me reading a book, enjoying a good cup of coffee, taking a Zumba class, binging on Netflix Series, or visiting my hairdresser (to stay loyal to my Latinx roots).

Always in the mood for travelling and experiencing new adventures!
